Professional Teeth Cleanings
It’s a very good idea to have an effective at-home-care regimen, but nothing replaces regularly-scheduled professional cleanings. And even if you do a good job at home, some tartar still accumulates on your teeth. Our experienced and expert hygienists will reach deep into every little crevice around your teeth to clean areas that are hard for you to reach with a toothbrush or floss. Having one of our professionals whisk this tartar away protects your teeth from decay.
TMJ/TMD Treatment (for Chronic Jaw Pain)
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is located where your lower jaw hooks into your skull near your temple. Injury, displacement or inflammation in this joint can lead to problems like:
- Jaw or ear pain
- Headaches
- Clicking or popping when moving the jaw
- Locking of the joint
- Inability to open the mouth wide
- Sore, stiff muscles in the jaw
We have several ways to treat temporomandibular disorders (TMD) to give you relief from pain and restore proper function. If you suffer from any of these symptoms, please contact us to learn how we can help.
Gum Disease Therapy
Treatment of gum disease is called “periodontal care.” When we see patients for routine cleanings and examinations, we carefully note any signs of gum disease such as redness, puffiness or bleeding. When these signs are present, we recommend deep cleaning to eliminate accumulated tartar or bacterial deposits under the gums. This restores health to the gums and protects your teeth against decay.
Sealants
We often recommend sealants for younger patients who might not brush as thoroughly or as long as they should, or who have lots of snacks and sweets in their diets. These durable sealants are painted on those teeth most susceptible to cavities during these young years and have proven to result in fewer fillings being needed.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride has the effect of hardening the enamel of teeth and so preventing cavities. We advise many parents to get fluoride treatments for their children. It is also useful for patients of any age who might be particularly susceptible to cavities. Studies have shown a significant reduction in cavities among teeth treated with fluoride. A liquid fluoride formula can be painted on the teeth or a fluoride gel can be added to a mouthpiece that the patient then bites into.

Oral Cancer Screenings
Every visit, we screen patients for any signs of oral cancer. We look inside the mouth, under the tongue, on the lips, and inside the cheeks. We will press different areas around the mouth and under the jaw. If there is any sign of oral cancer, we want to catch it at the very first moment possible.
Emergency Dental Services
We feel strongly that we should be available for our patients and other members of our community when emergencies arise. If you or a loved one suffer a toothache, a knocked-out or broken tooth, lost filling or crown or another emergency, please call us as soon as possible so we can fit you into our schedule.
